CakePHP 4 is a PHP 8.0-based web development platform (min. PHP 7.2). CakePHP is a software application that is free and open-source. It is written in PHP and uses the model–view–controller (MVC) approach. It is modelled after Ruby on Rails and distributed under the MIT License.
Convention over configuration, model–view–controller, active record, association data mapping, and front controller are all examples of well-known software engineering principles and software design patterns used by CakePHP.
CakePHP began in April 2005, when Michal Tatarynowicz, a Polish programmer, created a stripped-down version of a rapid application development system in PHP .He released the code under the MIT licence and made it available to the online developer community.
